4-star hotel on the Grand Canal with private parking in Venice

Location & Access

Hotel Santa Chiara sits next to the ferry terminal and airport coach stop in Piazzale Roma, 200 metres from Venezia Santa Lucia Train Station. The Papadopoli Gardens are next door, and the Grand Canal runs directly in front of the hotel. It is the only hotel in Venice that offers private on-site parking, available upon request, in the only area of the historic centre that can be reached by car.

Rooms

Guest rooms are decorated in a traditional Venetian design with air conditioning, satellite TV, and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Some rooms have a balcony with views of the gardens, the Grand Canal, or the square. Allergy-free rooms, soundproof rooms, and family rooms are available.

Dining & Breakfast

A continental or full breakfast is served depending on the room type booked, with local and seasonal specialties. Drinks are available at the bar that faces the Grand Canal. Guests can also order breakfast in the room or use the coffee house on site.

Services for Families & Pets

Babysitting and child services are offered for guests travelling with children. The hotel is pet-friendly and allows pets on the property. A shared lounge and TV area is available for all guests.

Business & Accessibility

Fax and photocopying services are available, and meeting and banquet facilities can be arranged. The hotel offers wheelchair-accessible rooms with grab rails in the bathroom and an emergency cord. A lift serves all floors, and the property has non-smoking rooms throughout.

Highlights

Parking: Only hotel in Venice with private on-site paid parking

Access: Next to ferry terminal, airport coach stop, and train station

Views: Canal-facing bar and rooms with garden, Grand Canal, or square views

Family: Babysitting services and pet-friendly policy

Heritage: Parts of the building were a former monastery

“The location, a genuine asset, puts one directly at the city's transit hub. Though some rooms apparently lack inspiring views, I appreciate the blend of historic architecture and modern amenities. Its private parking, a rarity in Venice, stands out.”
